Phase 2, Post 12: Story Making Workshop

I'm not really sure if I did this right but here it is!

This is Nurse Joyce, she is a 22 year old nurse that just graduated from NYU. Her first job as a nurse was to help treat patients with coronavirus. She is never really taken seriously by her peers because this is her first job and she isn’t as experienced. One day on her shift she was drinking coffee and noticed that it tasted a little weird. Thinking she was just imagining it because of her 15 hour shift, she ignored it and went home. As she was walking home, the world started changing around her. As she was about to cross the street to get to her apartment, the street disappeared and she found herself surrounded by a forest. She looked around and didn’t see anyone. But, she saw a glowing orange flower in the corner of her eye that got her attention. Her vision started to get blurry as she went to grab the flower. All of a sudden the world went black and she found herself back on the empty NYC street. Confused by what just happened, Joyce went back to her apartment. The next day, back at the hospital, she was rummaging in her pocket to find her pen when she felt something else. She looked in her pocket and noticed the glowing orange flower. Shocked by what she saw, she ran to tell her friend, Nurse Kenzie. Kenzie told her that she was going crazy and she just need more rest. On her rounds, Joyce was treating a patient and felt a sudden urge to pull out the flower. When she pulled it out, she realized that there was a glowing orange liquid that came out of it when you picked a petal. Without thinking, she took the liquid in the flower and gave it to the patient to drink who tried to fight her on it but then fell into the same trance. Then, she snapped out of the trance and wondered what she had done in the minutes before. A few hours later, Joyce went back to that patient and he was cured. She realized that this flower was the cure to COVID-19 because the glowing orange liquid reacted to our taste buds. Knowing she had to get more flowers, Joyce convinced Kenzie to drink the coffee with her and they both ventured into the forest to find more flowers.

The story basically is just to show that even if you are newer in an industry, doesn’t mean you don’t have the same knowledge and intuition as someone who has a lot of experience.

Phase 2, Post 13: Ansh Patel and Jordi Frank

I think this was a great topic for the second to last class. It was really interesting to hear from recent grads about their transitions and progress after graduating from NYU. Although Ansh’s work is

Phase 2, Post 11: Michael Higgins

I really enjoyed this talk because it was cool to find out more about the history of Metrotech, especially because we all used to be around that area every day. I think social justice tours is a reall
