Phase 2, Post 1: Midterm Projects IRL

If both/all of your projects were to be created in real life, how might they influence each other?

The midterm project I chose to relate to mine is Nicolai and Idriss's project about VR more specifically the Oculus in relation to Class and Ability. Their solution was to create a headset that is hands free which would relate to my project about accessibility and AR. I think their solution of creating a hands free headset is really smart because it would help those with disabilities be better able to use the technology and allow them to move around a lot less. I think if out two solutions were created at the same time, they would greatly benefit one another. This is because they are both solutions that allow those with physical disabilities use AR and VR technologies with little to no movement. I think it would be interesting to see if Idriss and Nicolai's headset would include eye movement tracking to eliminate the movement of your head like in my solution. I feel like a lot of the time the AR industry follows a lot of what the VR industry does as they are so closely related. So therefore, I think it would push AR developer specifically AR headsets and apps to include the eye movement detection. Furthermore, their idea to be able to connect any remote via Bluetooth is a great idea as it would also be another way to allow those with physical and visual impairments to use the remotes they already have to be able to play the AR and VR games in a way that is best for them. Overall, I think these two solution would really complement each other. There is a lot of overlap in the AR and VR worlds and I think if these two solutions were implemented they would create a lot of change to the industry.
